Reviews & Press

The Miskreants '50's Inspired Los Angeles Based Rock Band – press & reviews page   THE MISKREANTS LIVE AT WHISKY RICHARDS, SANTA BARBARA

“This is the second time I've come to see The Miskreants play at Santa Barbara's local live music watering hole, Whisky Richard's. The first time was a fortunate accident, as I hadn't heard of the band before. This time my attendance was definitely planned, and the LA pop rockers didn't let me down. They played a sweaty, energetic set to a busier than usual Sunday night crowd. The show was equally as impressive as it was the first time I saw them here, as once again they managed to get the girls dancin' and the guys drinkin'! What more can one ask for from a rock 'n roll show! Great performers.. Highly recommended!” (ASB Press)

THE MISKREANTS – BROKEN... BUT STILL BEATING CD REVIEW

Hard Rock Hideout
“These days it is easy for some bands to get lost in the shuffle. A band that has been sandwiched between my recent playlist of Jack Blades, Van Halen, Shinedown, Accept, Weezer, and All American Rejects, are The Miskreants.” (Los Angeles, CA)

“The Miskreants will soon be releasing their debut album, Broken... But Still Beating. With the release of their recent video, “Someone Like You” (Adele cover), I knew I needed to check these guys out. After giving Broken... But Still Beating a few plays, I hear a variety of influences. The best way I could describe the band is a modern rock band with classic and vintage influences. I would describe the bands' sound as a fusion of punk, rock, 80's hit singles, and 50's style. With that said however the sound is somehow amazingly streamlined, and it just seems to all blend together in a beautiful gravy tasting concoction!”

“I have read where The Miskreants have been compared to Social Distortion, and I would agree that there are some songs on Broken... But Still Beating that could easily fit on an Social D record. The songs Ride The Sky and A Year's Time definitely fit that style.”

“Some of my favorites on this CD are Ride The Sky, Upside Down and  Save Yourself. There really isn’t a bad song in the bunch.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if a major label signed The Miskreants. They are far better than many of the bands you hear on FM radio today. I truly have been enjoying their CD, Broken... But Still Beating, and I think you will, too.”
